Shimano: the history of the company

Before being the Shimano Industrial Co. LTD, the company was called Shimano Iron Works (and earlier, only Shimano Inc).

It was founded in 1921 by Shozaburo Shimano in the city of Sakai City, more precisely in Osaka in Japan, to which the first large-scale bicycle production is connected and aimed at the international public.

Now Shimano Inc. and based in North America, the company has been able to exploit the market and impose itself as one of the main suppliers of technologies, technical devices and innovations for mountain bikes and bicycles of all kinds and purposes.
